WINDOWS | REFLETS
In my ongoing body of photographs entitled REFLETS, opposing elements are layered into a single image by light and the reflective qualities of glass. Modern fashion advertising images become mirrors for passing people and cars, ancient buildings, trees and clouds. Nature is juxtaposed with man-made, and beauty becomes the antonym to the gritty urban landscape reflected in its unnatural, airbrushed surface. These images represent in-camera layering, are shot on film, and printed digitally without alteration. Both in color and black and white they address the juxtaposition of the real world and the fantasy world of fashion and beauty.
